A Dornfelder from the Mosel
Think of Germany's Mosel Valley and racy, slatey Rieslings spring to mind. Red Mosels are rather more unusual and all the more interesting for it.
I can count on the fingers of one hand the Dornfelders I have had - this is by far the best.
Ripe, black cherry fruit, oaky spice and excellent underpinnings; fresh and savoury with fine tannins.
Good.
Match with salami or darker game.
