Etienne Dumont Brut NV‏ - Sainsbury's

On first opening, this Etienne Dumont Brut NV from Sainsbury's is light, refreshing and simple.

With more aeration, it develops into something more yeasty with biscuity brioche, becoming more mouthfilling, savoury and rich with good, balanced fruit acidity.

If it perhaps lacks quite the finesse and fine bubbles of top-notch Champagnes, it does not command quite the same price either; you pays your money and you takes your choice.

This wine is exclusive to Sainsbury's and has apparently become the largest-selling Champagne brand in the UK off-trade (sales by volume).

£29.99 (but frequently reduced); exclusive to Sainsbury's.
